The Regenerating Generosity Of God
As we celebrate the end of the second millennium from the time of Jesus Christ's birth, it is fitting that God should want us to understand more clearly the true significance of that event. An occasion of great joy, heralded by the angels proclaiming 'Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace among those of goodwill .' The birth of our Saviour. The Regenerating Generosity of God. After the fall God immediately began to implement His contingency plan, not in a revolutionary way, but in an evolutionary way, allowing mankind to experience the practical implications of the choice between good and evil. To learn that freewill was not just a choice, but a challenge to the heart, mind and soul, a challenge to each persons integrity. Everyone from the time of the fall has and is being tested, individually within the whole collective struggle of humanity. In God's own words to His prophet:
Comment: To know the truth, so that the truth will set us free - this is the tactic highlighted in this message. The truth that we come from God and that we will never be completely happy until we find Him again and make Him and His Kingdom our goal. The way to the Kingdom is via the gateway of Christ. The Divine and perfect Judge, who as God the Son, is all knowing, all wise, all just, all merciful and always obedient to God the Father's specification. As the perfect all knowing Judge, Christ understands the love of the Father for His children, which is the real fundament of the specification. The bottom line for a true and final decision. In the word explicit, coming from the word specification, is to be found the real clue to Christ's judgements. Explicit comes from the Latin 'explicitus', unfolded. As 'explicitus est liber': the book is unfolded (or complete). In other words the judgement is not unfounded by lack of knowledge of what has gone before, or what is possible in the future. Of what can evolve in a life tested by good times and bad. Tested by the dimensions (qualities) of life experience, from birth to old age, to death. From death to - where now? God expressed it this way to His prophet:
Comment: As the second Millennium A.D draws to a close, many demands for change were being made on the basis that "We are living in the nineties." What a contrast to God's words of encouragement, that regardless of which age it is that we as individuals live and die, He is and His love is for all ages - forever. It could be said that the most prevalent feature of the 20th century has been the regularity of crises. Crises which have prompted changes and changes which have spawned crises. Involved in all of this have been the people - the Plebiscite - the public forum. Faced with the pace of change and crises, the public expression has become confused and anxious, an anxiety that has reached into family life and the lives of individuals. God's desire to heal our anxieties was given to His prophet this way:
Comment: From a down to earth perspective anxiety usually centers around health, wealth and happiness. It is said that we do not fully appreciate good health until we lose it, or that all the money in the world cannot buy good health or happiness. Nevertheless without good health and without sufficient income, life can be a very difficult and depressing experience. God, knowing all these things and the reasons for them, indicates that He can heal our anxieties by bringing hope into our lives through our knowing and our acceptance of His existence and the great love that He has for us. Is it that we have our priorities out of perspective? Are we worrying too much about our health and wealth, thereby hoping to find happiness, instead of securing happiness in our knowledge and trust in God's providence? Are we too concerned with the present when God is inviting us to be positive about our future? A future which can be an eternal life of happiness with Him in the immensity of His Kingdom, made possible through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit added His encore on the subject through His prophet:
